FreeRTOS - Practical guide

Posted by Ban Moris on September 14, 2011
I have a question if the examples included in the standard edition can be build on using GCC instead of open source Open Watcom and the resulting executable run on Linux OS?

The simple answer is "no". There is a plan to update the examples to instead use the Win32 simulator, but the Visual Studio Express version, not the Eclipse/GCC version. Maybe it would be better to use the Eclipse/GCC version instead, but, in any case, that is not going to happen any time soon.

Regards.

Yes, it will really make sense to update the example to use Eclipse/GCC version, since a lot of (open sorce) developer and researcher are working on unix-like OS...
