I am working on a project using a SAM7X and the IAR compiler and I am trying to incorporate the UIP network stack. I have been able to adapt one of the FreeRTOS demo projects and successfully run it on my hardware so I have a baseline for my project. The problem I am having is that the UIP version is rather old, 0.9 I believe, and I would like to have a more modern version. It seems that the newer UIP versions are embedded within the Contiki operating system and I have been unable to extricate it successfully.

Has anyone been able to successfully pull the newer UIP code out and make it work with FreeRTOS? It seems like there was an effort a year or so ago with the FreeTCPIP project but I haven't heard any more about it. Has there been any updates or has this died?

I will continue to try to pull out the code myself and if I make any progress I will post me results.

There are several examples of how to do this. If you are using IAR, then I suggest opening the project as documented on this page: http://www.freertos.org/FreeRTOS-for-K60-Cortex-M4-with-web-server.html [a link to the source is also on that page], then copy the files that the project includes in your project, and copy the integration with FreeRTOS that is contained in uip_task.c. The integration in the K60 project uses the features of FreeRTOS V7.x and the uIP code is based on V1.0, but then updated with some of the newer Contiki code.

Are there any plans to modify all the uIP demo projects to use FreeTCPIP? I can see where it would be very useful having a common uIP version between all the demos instead of what is currently done.
